Despite the fact that happiness has been studied in many fields (i.e., sociology, psychology, philosophy) since the early times, it is relatively new in the management field. Especially, the pursuit of the happiness of employees, consumers or even students is a key aspect that needs further understanding. Our goal is to propose scientific basis for the study of Happiness in order to show why, how much and when happiness influences performance.
Our Research Center in “Happiness & Management” at ESCP Europe is multi-cultural (researchers from Europe and US), multi-disciplinary (expertise in Human Resource Management, Marketing, Organizational Behavior) and multi-methods (both qualitative and quantitative).
We currently deal with 3 inter-disciplinary research projects in order to address the following questions in the Management field:
- What are the drivers of Happiness?
- How to measure Happiness and its consequences?
- Under which situations Happiness increase or decrease?
